Investigation of CaO/Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> Mass Ratio on the Properties and Structure of Ce<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>-Containing CaO–Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>-based Tundish Flux

The properties and structure of Ce2O3-containing CaO–Al2O3-based tundish flux with different w(CaO)/w(Al2O3) have been investigated by hemispherical melting point method, the rotating cylinder Raman spectroscopy, respectively. Results suggested that temperature decreased from 1340°C to 1309°C, softening 1337°C 1304°C, while fluidity changed not profound as 0.9 1.3. remained relatively steady when was above 1.1. An increase in led a decrease viscosity, breaking temperature, activation energy. A good property slag ranged 1.1–1.3 current work. main structural units AlO4-tetrahedral were Q2Al, Q3Al, Q4Al, major SiO4-tetrahedral Q0Si, Q1Si system. With increasing w(CaO)/w(Al2O3), polymerized Q4Al modified Q2Al aluminate structure. In silicate structure, unit Q0Si w(CaO)/w(Al2O3). CaO could exert stronger ability stabilize melts. Meanwhile, NBO/T Λcorr indicated DOP melt.
